Credit Card Transaction Processing system development:

American Express Global Network Services

Accomplishments: Led a group of 62 FTE developers including 5 team leads and 2 Project Managers in the development of the Global
Network Services Clearing and Settlement engine at American Express. Acted as co-architect for the application and data model. Acted as
Release Manager for first 3 releases.

Day to day activities: Oversee all aspects of the project and project staff throughout the software development lifecycle, from concept through
implementation. Develop and negotiate new opportunities for the project. Act as project manager to develop project concept and cost/benefit
analysis, develop project budget, create project organization, staff the project, define project scope and schedule and tracking project progress
using computer-based tools. Managed the development of Global Network Services Clearing and Settlement financial transaction processing
system. The projects involved coordinating and negotiating the work effort of various groups and individuals (from Senior Vice Presidents and
corporate officers to software developers) in various sites worldwide and implementing across multiple platforms (mainframe, client server and
internet) worldwide. The project budget is $25 million dollars per year. The staffing is approximately 62 FTEs. Deliver projects on schedule
and within 5% of (under) budget.

Extracurricular activities: Aided in creating the Project Management Office of the larger organization. Provided many of the fundamental
processes, procedures and reports that were adopted as the standard for the Project Management Office. Helped the staff of the PMO understand
the environmental situation and provided academic Project Management expertise. Provided career guidance and professional development
advice to staff.



Logical separtion of web opertions environments for corporate split:

American Express to Ameriprise

Accomplishments: Led a team of 12 Project Managers for IBM in creating a logical separation of the web operational environment of
American Express and Ameriprise Financial. Implemented use of a modified Spiral Methodology to determine requirements, create project
plans and establish deliverables and due dates in an iterative process such that planning for the later part of the project occurred concurrent with
executing the earlier part of the project. Time did not allow for the project to be fully planned or scoped before work started. The project was
crashed from start.

Day to day activities: Drive and coordinate the enterprise-wide separation of a complex, multi-tiered web environment for American Express.
Act as primary controller of processes and deliverables for the separation of applications in a highly secure, ever evolving web complex.
Coordinate many different teams and variety of technical and non-technical personnel. Lead integration effort without official authority over any
of the participants. Accomplish tasks through cultivating and managing relationships with the various project participants. Develop and
manage to budget estimates for project life cycle.

Personal Interaction: Dealt with people from highly technical engineers to non-technical business people, from low level technicians to high
level business and technical people. Direct reports and clients alike were satisfied with the management and team environment created to
accomplish the task. Acted as one of the key players in making a cohesive enterprise-wide team that worked together to accomplish business
goals in an extremely compressed time frame.



Implementation of new aircraft maintenance facility information systems:

American West Airline

Accomplishments: Managed the implementation of automated maintenance scheduling system for a major US airline. Set up 5 maintenance
centers for the airline.

Day to day activities: Oversee the development of a LAN and intranet connectivity for new maintenance centers for the airline. Create project
plans and track progress against these plans. Determine the appropriate development tools and assist in making sure they are available. Initiate
application development efforts and manage them through implementation. Participate in the planning for creation of a wireless LAN within
the hangar for the maintenance crews. Provided senior-level executives with the progress and status reports.

Extracurricular activities: Provided input into the development of the Project Management Office of the larger organization. Helped the staff
of the PMO understand the environmental situation and provided academic Project Management expertise.
